Sometimes you have a great idea for a project but just cannot find the right fabric for your idea. Even more worrisome is when you’ve designed the fabric for your project and now you have to entrust someone else to put it on the right fabric, in the right colors, in the right size… and on and on. - Their quality is impeccable and consistent.
- Their customer service is reachable and super helpful.
- You can order a fabric sample pack to get each of their fabric bases in your hands to help decide exactly what you’d like. They have lots of fabric bases including swim and boardshorts.
- Leave a comment on your order and their team will help you decide the best scale for your project.
- They offer specialty ordering options for printing fabric to make canopies for wagons and printing multiple different prints onto 1 yard for smaller projects, or printing your own tags

Baby Bee Fabric
- Another business with a loyal follower base that will happily tell you all about the quality of this fabric.
- You can order a sample pack of their fabric bases, but it does look like for now they only have their synthetic bases in the sample pack.
- They have a couple unique fabric bases including Scuba, Stretch Velvet, Waffle, and Satin!
- They also have finished products that you can design yourself. Towels, blankets, swaddles, and even waterproof picnic blankets are available with whatever print you’d like.
Little Cocalico
- Little Cocalico has a ton of fabric bases but some of its offerings include Canvas, Twill, Sateens, Thermal, Linen, and Sport Lycra.

- They also have home decor available that you can design, then they will print and sew the items and send you finished placemats, napkins, or tea towels.
Ripstop By The Roll
- Ripstop by the roll is a specialty outdoor fabric store, they can print on dozens of different kinds of outdoor fabrics including ripstop, PU laminate fabrics, and Dyneema composite fabrics.
- They are a great option if you want to make your own outdoor gear or clothing.
- They do have a more complicated system of ordering than other companies, but to help you be confident in your choices you can order custom print samples or put together a sample pack of their fabrics.
Spoonflower
If you’ve done any research you’ve likely come across Spoonflower, to be completely candid, I’ve used it, but I avoid it now.
- In my experience they have frequent printing errors including a large variation in the color you may get printing the same design another time
- Their customer service can be helpful at times if you have a big enough error that gets sent all the way to you, but because they are such a large company, customer service may not be able to do much.
- The way they print has a tendency to change the hand feel of fabric. You can often feel the ink on the fabric.
- They are one of the largest print on demand fabric printers
- They have a large collection of prints from different designers, and the designers do receive a small cut of every purchase of their design.
- They have a decent range of fabric bases, so if they have a base that other printers don’t have, it can be worth trying.
